Rawalpindi: Offshoots of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have come together under the name of `Ghazi Amalyat`, and are conducting terrorist activities across the country, including Lahore, Quetta and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to sources, a preliminary investigation by security agencies has revealed that various factions of the TTP, including the Jamaat ul Ahrar, have become active and are targeting the police, army and judges. Peshawar: One killed, four injured in suicide attack on judges van
At least one person was killed and four injured in a suicide attack near Hayatabad Medical Complex. Briefing the media the CCPO Tahir Khan said that after suicide bomber targeted the judicial officers’ van, the driver of that van was killed while four people including three women were injured in the attack. Mohmand Agency/Peshawar/Charsadda: Fresh terror wave reaches KP, tribal areas
A renewed wave of terrorism in the country intensified when four suicide bombers blew themselves up one after another on a single day at different spots in Peshawar, Mohmand Agency and Charsadda in an attempt to target security forces and members of the judiciary. Two suicide bombers targeted a government compound in Ghalanai, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency, before a third bomber in Peshawar rammed his explosives-laden motorbike into a vehicle carrying four judges. The fourth suicide bomber blew himself up in a combing operation later in the day in a village in Charsadda. A total of seven people, including four security personnel, were killed and nine others wounded in the attacks. The four judges survived the Peshawar attack but sustained serious wounds. Mohmand Agency: Five terrorists killed in Mohmand search operation: FC
At least five terrorists were killed in a search operation in Mohmand Agency. According to FC spokesman, the security forces carried out search operation in different areas of Ghalanai after suicide attack on the office of political administration. Nowshera: Intelligence agency official killed
Unknown armed men on Wednesday shot dead an intelligence agency official in Azakhel area of Nowshera district. According to police, Waheed Ullah was on routine patrol on his bike in Azakhel area of Nowshera when unknown armed men, ridding on motorcycle, opened indiscriminate firing on him. South Wazirstan Agency: 25 militants including commander Abdul Wahab arrested during search operation
Security forces, on February 14, 2017, arrested 25 militants and seized huge cache of arms and explosives from their custody during search operations in Gul Kuch and Zar Melan areas of tehsil Tui Khula in South Waziristan Agency. A security official and a militant were killed in exchange of fire during a search operation in the area. Political Agent Zafarul Islam said the militants opened fire on the security forces when they were carrying out search operation in Zar Melan area of Toe Khula tehsil due to which one soldier was killed. Peshawar: FATA-KP merger will eradicate terrorism: Imran
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will eradicate menace of terrorism in the region. He was addressing a press conference following suicide attacks in Mohmand Agency and Peshawar. `Objectives of Operation Zarb-i-Azb and National Action Plan can be achieved if Fata is merged with KP,` Imran said, adding that the issues of Fata needed to be resolved as soon as possible. Peshawar: Work on Koto power project’s tunnel completed
The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation has built a two kilometres long tunnel of the Koto hydropower project saying the initiative will generate 40.8 megawatts electricity. The tunnel is located a few kilometers from Timergara on the main road of Lower Dir. The Rs13. 98 billion project being executed on the River Panjkora will be linked with the national grid in 2019. Peshawar: Special security force to be raised for CPEC
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said the government would raise a force of2,600 personnel for the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor-related projects and routes in the province. He directed the relevant authorities to make a plan for the management, security and safety of the Swat Motorway, including security in the proposed industrial cities in the province, said an official statement issued here. South Waziristan Agency: Tribal Jirga demands separate column for TDPs in census form
A jirga of South Waziristan tribal elders demanded a separate column for Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) in census forms. As per details, a jirga of Mehsud tribes elders was held at political compound which was attended by Member National Assembly Maunala Jamal-ud-Din, Malik Saeed-ur-Rehman, Malik Akhtar Gul, Maulana Abdur Rashid and others.
