Drone Kills Haqqani Group Commander
Hangu: A drone strike killed a militant commander and one of his accomplices in the Spin Thall area of Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday. According to officials, the US drone fired two missiles at the alleged compound of Haqqani network commander Abubakar at Sehri time. The strike eliminated Abubakar and one of his close aides while the compound was destroyed. Dawn

Quetta: The militant Islamic State group (IS) had no presence in Balochistan, said Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Tuesday, adding that the military`s operation against militants was in full swing in the province. Speaking at a press conference at the Frontier Corps (FC) Madadgar Centre, Mr Bugti said that during an intelligence-based operation, two militants of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Niaz Muhammad alias Niazo and Jan Muhammad aka Laila were killed on Monday. In the post-conflict period, the federal government decided to establish an industrial estate inside North Waziristan Agency. Islamabad: Pakistan expects China to fund a long-delayed Indus river mega dam project in Gilgit Baltistan, with work beginning next year, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said in an interview. Pakistan has been keen for years to build a cascade of mega dams along the Indus flowing down from the Himalayas, but has struggled to raise money from international institutions amid opposition from India.
