Charsadda: Police claimed to have foiled a major terrorism bid and arrested two militants affiliated with the Sheikh Khalid group of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Terrorist Activity Foiled in Minchinabad
Bahawalnagar: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have foiled a terrorist attack in Minchinabad and arrested four suspected terrorists of a banned outfit along with explosives and other material. FATA Lawmakers Hold Unique Protest in Parliament against Delay in Reforms Implementation
The FATA Parliamentarians staged a unique protest during the joint session of the Parliament by holding placards in their hands reading that FATA people were also Pakistanis and they should be given their basic rights. The FATA lawmakers were split into two groups as one group including Haji Nazeer Khan, Ghalib Khan, Bilal Rehman, Ghazi Gulab Jamal and Maulana Jamaluddin did not take part in the protest. Efforts on to Bring FATA at par with Developed Areas: Governor
Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, KP Governor, said that the Federal Government was taking measures to bring Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) at par with developed areas. In a meeting with member of the National Assembly from South Waziristan Agency, Ghalib Khan, he said that billions of rupees’ development projects in health, education, agriculture sectors and provision of drinking water were in process in FATA. Cell set up in Bajaur for Restoration of Blocked CNICs
A cell has been established for opening of blocked computerized national identity cards (CNICs) of citizens in Bajaur Agency. The assistant political agent of Nawagai tehsil said that the citizens of Nawagai, Barang and Mamond should contact the APA office focal person Rizwan with complete documents for unblocking of their CNICs. While on the other hand the National Database and Registration Authority in collaboration with FATA Secretariat has formed verification committee in all the seven agencies for detection of fake computerized national identity cards and release of all genuine blocked cards.
